But, did you know that Dickinson, ND also has tons of great barbecue joints too? For that truly American staple, we have scoured the area to find the best barbecue in and around town.
JD’s BBQ and Grill
Located right here in Dickinson, JD’s is a staple of the town’s food scene. With a powerful BBQ and smoker, and with a team of experienced chefs, JD’s rustles up some absolutely unforgettable dishes which take inspiration from around the world. Along with American classics such as burgers, steaks, and heavily stuffed sandwiches, you can expect to see culinary delights like fajita fries and the tri-tip bento bowl.
If you fancy making the day extra special, why not try one of JD’s elegant cocktails? From classics such as the Pink Lemonade to on-site creations like the watermelon Long Island Iced Tea, you’re sure to find something you love. If you’re not one for cocktails then you can go for one of JD’s many American beers, but please remember to drink responsibly, never drink and drive, and never allow anyone under the legal drinking age to consume alcohol.
York’s Barbeque Pit
Another one that is based in Dickinson, you can smell York’s Barbeque Pit before you can see it. With the smoky aroma of barbequed meats drifting out, how could anyone resist? The menu is simple enough – as it should be at a BBQ pit! – and has only 5 sections: BBQ platters, chicken platters, rib platters, sandwiches, and sides. It’s the choices within these sections that make York’s truly memorable.
Choices include pulled pork, pulled chicken, a whole chicken, smoked sausage, brisket, burned ends, and both half racks and full racks of ribs, all served with a side and a bread roll. The chefs at York’s also produce their own range of homemade sauces to add to your meals, including a Bourbon and peach BBQ sauce and Alabama white sauce.
Oahu Hawaiian BBQ, Sushi Bar, and Thai Cuisine
Head out of town a few miles to Bismarck and you’ll find this fusion delight. With a massive menu covering Japanese, Thai, and Hawaiian cuisine, there is so much to love about this place. Not your traditional American BBQ joint, the food served from the barbeque are all classic Hawaiian beach dishes and mainly consists of fish. However, BBQ chicken and beef are available with Hawaiian sauces and condiments.
If you’re not one for a Hawaiian BBQ, why not try the beef short ribs? Marinated in a Korean BBQ sauce and grilled to perfection, this is one BBQ that you’ll never forget.
