Your Chevy’s transmission converts the uncontrolled power of your engine into controlled power. This controlled power is then transferred to your wheels, which allows them to move. Without this conversion, the uncontrolled power of your engine would destroy itself, but it would not allow your vehicle to move. The transmission is filled with a multitude of parts, and over time you will most likely need a transmission repair. Your Chevy dealer we can repair any problems that might occur.

Difficulty Shifting Gears

Shifting gears should be a smooth and easy process. Very little effort is required, and a good transmission doesn’t produce any noise. If you feel resistance when you shift, this suggests a problem with the transmission. A buzzing sound from your automatic transmission usually means that you are low on transmission fluid. This fluid lubricates the transmission and provides the hydraulic power for your gears to shift.

Clunking sounds from a manual can mean a lack of transmission fluid. They can also mean that your clutch plates are worn or that there is damage to your transmission sections. Our technicians must examine it so we can fix the problem and prevent further damage.

Transmission Slipping

Transmission slipping occurs when your transmission is uncontrollably shifted out of gear and into neutral. Under normal circumstances, your transmission will shift according to the increased RPMs if you have an automatic transmission or by physically shifting the gear in a manual transmission.

Randomly shifting into neutral is extremely dangerous. To fully control your car, you have to have the ability to shift gears at any time and rely on the fact that the gear will stay in that position. When your car shifts into neutral, your wheels won’t work. This can lead to a serious accident.

Dragging Clutch

A dragging clutch occurs in a manual transmission when the clutch fails to disengage from the flywheel. Your flywheel’s purpose is to keep the engine running while your gear is disengaged. Without the flywheel, your engine would stall as soon as you shift out of gear. The flywheel also connects your transmission to the engine, which allows your engine’s power to reach the wheels.

This is situation is usually caused by an accumulation of dirt and debris around the pedal. A dragging clutch results in friction between the gears, and this creates a lot of noise. Our technicians can fix this and remove an annoying and noisy problem.

Transmission Fluid Leak

Leaking transmission fluid can cause your transmission to overheat. This fluid circulates through the transmission and helps to reduce the temperature. It also prevents friction between the various moving parts and provides hydraulic power for your gears.

This fluid is bright or dark red. If you find a puddle of red fluid under your car call our service department right away.
