Come in springtime for the peak season to go fishing, wildlife watching (you're bound to see cranes and other waterfowl), and canoeing. 4. Little Missouri National Grassland Spring is the ideal time to visit the famous Dakotan grasslands, with flowers in bloom, bright blue sunny skies, and large land animals coming out of their winter hibernation.
