New Features for 2022 Chevrolet has performed a complete overhaul on their new model, giving it a fresh look on the outside, new technology on the inside, and four great engine options under the hood. New body colors have been added this year, and the Chevy palette now includes Dark Ash, Sand Dune, and Glacier Blue Metallic. Regarding technology updates, the instrument panel has been upgraded, and we see some serious increases in infotainment and driver's screen size. As if this muscle truck needed more strength and power, Chevrolet has increased the torque on the standard 2.7-liter engine to 420 pound-feet, and the turbodiesel engine can tow a whopping 4,000 pounds more than earlier models. If you've never been one to stay in the lines, the Chevy Silverado is now fitted with ZR2 suspension to allow for some seriously smooth off-roading. Engine Variety The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado has four excellent available engines for you to choose from: 2.7-liter turbo-four (310 horsepower with 420 pound-feet of torque) 5.3-liter V-8 (355 horsepower with 383 pound-feet of torque) 6.2-liter V-8 (420 horsepower with 460 pound-feet of torque) 3.0-liter I-6 turbodiesel (277 horsepower with 460 pound-feet of torque) Interior Updates The new Silverado 1500s have received a complete dashboard update. Originally, the infotainment screen size was 8 inches, but Chevrolets now feature a 13.4-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster on the LT trim level and higher. In models with bucket seats, gone are the old-fashioned column shifters, and here to stay are more modern electronic shift levers mounted on the center console. Safety Features All models have superb safety features. These include collision alerts, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alerts, front pedestrian braking, and automatic high beams. Additionally, there is available Super Cruise technology on higher trims that gives you hands-free capabilities on certain roads. To ensure that you keep your eyes on the road, eye-gaze technology scans the driver's face in High Country models.
